Em \u201cEFL Students and Their Need for Intercultural Textbooks\u201d<\/strong>, Ana Livia Carvalho Costa<\/strong> discute a import\u00e2ncia de materiais did\u00e1ticos que representem diferentes culturas e realidades no ensino de ingl\u00eas como l\u00edngua estrangeira.<\/p>\n

O ensaio aborda como muitos livros de EFL ainda apresentam uma vis\u00e3o limitada da l\u00edngua inglesa, frequentemente associando-a principalmente aos Estados Unidos e ao Reino Unido. A autora mostra como essa representa\u00e7\u00e3o pode criar uma sensa\u00e7\u00e3o de dist\u00e2ncia entre os estudantes e o idioma, al\u00e9m de contribuir para o apagamento de seus pr\u00f3prios contextos culturais. Afinal, aprender uma nova l\u00edngua n\u00e3o precisa significar deixar de lado quem somos, mas pode ser uma oportunidade de ampliar nossas formas de nos comunicar e nos conectar com pessoas de diferentes lugares.<\/p>\n
